Dr. Sandee McGlaun teaches courses in first-year, intermediate, and advanced composition and creative writing and directs the Writing Center @ NGCSU.  Dr. McGlaun holds a B.A. in English Literature-Creative Writing from Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, and her M.A. and Ph.D. in English from the Ohio State University.  Her areas of interest include rhetoric and composition, creative writing, theatre studies, and feminist theory.  Dr. McGlaun's scholarship has appeared in The Writing Lab Newsletter and Dialogue: A Journal for Writing Specialists; her poetry has been featured at the Columbus Arts Festival (Ohio) and in Old Red Kimono.  She has chapters forthcoming in two collections on writing center/program theory.  Additionally, she has been a frequent presenter at the Conference on College Composition and Communication, and the Rhetoric Society of America and Southeastern Writing Centers Association conferences.

A dramaturg and lifelong theatre enthusiast, Dr. McGlaun is also author of the one-woman show What a Doll, which she has performed near and far.  She acts frequently on local stages, one of her most recent roles being that of ovarian cancer patient and Donne scholar Vivian Bearing in NGCSU’s production of Wit.  When she isn’t performing, reading (contemporary literature), writing (poetry and essays), or teaching, she enjoys sculpting and sewing, listening to NPR, and hanging out with her friends, family, and beautiful kitties Roscoe, Eliza Jane, and Charlie Kate.
