1. Final Project MWF Stats. Begin thinking about your final project. For Dr. Spence's class, your proposal document is due Wednesday, 12-Nov, in class. There will be a breif help session at the end of class Monday to get advice on topics, variable ideas and the process.
2. Final Project TR Stats. Your project write-up guide is here: ProjectDetails.doc or HTML version. The Rubric I use for scoring will help you understand what components will be assessed - impress me. Individuals will find this list of variables necessary. You MUST have your survey OK's by Dr. Sinn BEFORE you collect any data. Your survey is due Thursday, 13-Nov, in class. If you collect data without survey approval, you will flunk the class, have your head torn off and be beaten 7,259 times with a large stick.
3. Ms. Barrineau's AP Stats Class. Here are some helpful links. A team of my students used this Survey [Word or OpenOffice] to see if there was a correlation between exercise and stress/anxiety. Note that the anxiety items were all reversed scored, so LOW values for the anxiety scale indicate more stress. This means their "positive" correlation between esteem and anxiety indicated that self-esteem increased as anxiety decreased. Exercise did not appear to correlate much with either. Their "clean" Data File [XLSX or OpenOffice] shows their raw data, while their final Data File [XLSX or OpenOffice] includes all formulas, statistics and graphics. The team's Written Report [Word or OpenOffice] and their PowerPoint Presentation [PPT or OpenOffice]or are examples to follow.
