Syllabus

Required Text: Stewart, Redlin & Watson, Precalculus, Mathematics for Calculus, 5th edition, Brooks/Cole; 2006., ISBN: 0495392766 (Note: Make sure that you purchase the textbook that is bundled with an access code for CengageNOW. If your purchase a used copy of the text, you may purchase an access code for $33.49 at http://www.ichapters.com/ using the ISBN 0495394696.)

Required Technology:

  1. Graphing calculator. TI-83, TI-83 Plus, or TI-84 Graphing Calculator, Hewlett-Packard, Casio, et. al. (required)

  2. Student account on CengageNOW website (required). To set up your CengageNOW account:

    1. Go to http://academic.cengage.com/login

    2. Click Create My Account, and then Student.

    3. Enter your access code and click Continue. (The access code came with your new textbook from the bookstore (ISBN 0495392766). If you purchased a used textbook, you may purchase an access code for $33.49 online at http://www.ichapters.com/ using the ISBN 0495394696)
    4. Enter your account information, and click Continue.

    5. For the License Agreement, select I agree and click Continue.

    6. Click the CengageNOW icon on your My Dashboard page.

    7. Enter North Georgia College & State University and click Search. Select NGCSU from the resulting list and click Continue.

    8. Verify your information and click Continue. The CengageNOW Home page opens.

    9. Click Register for a Course.

    10. Enter the course key: E-43WE4E7G66FWR, and click Use This Course Key.
